As from 1st October 2008 Energywatch will cease to exist and will be merged along with Postwatch and the National Consumer Council to form a new consumer organisation. The new body will provide advice to consumers however, it will not provide the independent complaint handling support that energywatch provides currently. Therefore, in the first instance the onus will very much be on the consumer and their relevant supplier being able to resolve an energy problem.
