WHERE TO FIND INFORMATION: A STARTER GUIDE

CILIP Book image

This guide is not for information sophisticates, but is an invaluable guide for beginners. It aims to arm those who do not quite know where to begin with a simple and basic road map to find their way through the information maze. But, as the authors say at the outset, information rarely comes to you. You have to seek it out.

Part One outlines the main information resources and adds something about legal rights to information and the balance between freedom of access and data protection. Part Two concentrates on special subjects: disability, health, money, young people, homelessness, and what you really need to know as a consumer.

46 A4 pages. Compiled by Derek Kinrade and Philip Wark, and stunningly illustrated by Chris Bazeley.

Published in association with The Community Services Group of The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals - CILIP
